2023 Korean Cultural Festival- Saturday, Nov. 4th, 5pm/7pm

KCF-Invitation Letter-2

Celebrating Korean Culture with Our Brookline Neighbors: The 8th Korean Cultural Festival

An Invitation to See, Hear, Feel, and Taste the Richness of Korean Culture

The vibrant tapestry of Korean culture is set to come alive at the 8th Korean Cultural Festival, scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023. Hosted by the Korean Church of Boston (32 Harvard St, Brookline, MA 02445), this festival extends a warm invitation to all residents of Brookline and neighboring communities.

The festival will consist of two parts. The first part (5:00pm-) will feature a variety of activities and attractions, including Korean food tasting, traditional hanbok dressing, calligraphy, and an introduction to K-pop, which has been making waves recently. The second part (7:00pm-) will feature Korean traditional dance, music performances, and taekwondo demonstrations to provide a high-quality cultural experience.

The Korean Church of Boston is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and has been organizing and hosting various events. The Korean Cultural Festival will be the culmination of this year’s program. As the oldest Korean church in the New England region, the Korean Church of Boston has been actively involved in and contributing to cultural and educational activities in Brookline and the surrounding area. This festival was organized as an opportunity to showcase of the diversity and the richness of Korean culture, as well as to give back to and show appreciation for the welcoming and caring community that the church has been blessed with over the years.  As such, this year’s festival is themed as “Sharing Gratitude with our Neighbors.” It acknowledges that the small community of the Korean Church of Boston has been able to settle and grow together in this area because of the welcome and care of the Brookline community. Through the festival, the church aims to share gratitude and promote fellowship with its neighbors.

The event is free of charge, and everyone who wants to join in and have fun will be welcome. This festival will be a great opportunity to enjoy a time of fellowship with neighbors while sampling the richness of Korean culture.

The Korean Church of Boston, a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), was founded in 1953 and has been based in Brookline since 1967. Located in front of the Brookline Town Hall and near the Brookline Village T-Station, the church shares the building with the First Presbyterian Church of Brookline. The church’s Educational and Community Center (ECC), completed in 2010, is widely used for cultural events, educational seminars, and various community organization events.
